Silk’s Taste Maker Guide
Breakfast: Miller’s Bread Kitchen, Dromana, Victoria
Order: I don’t go out for breakfast often but when I do it’s for something on-the-go. Miller’s is an awesome family owned business and has the best pastries and pies in Melbourne. My favourite is the chicken, leek and Chardonnay pie and a choc croissant.
Coffee: Standing Room, Fitzroy North, Melbourne
Order: Either a latte with full cream or an almond cappuccino- depending on the day.
Lunch: Marquis of Lorne, Fitzroy, Melbourne
Order: My all time favourite pub. There used to be a roasted duck breast dish which was my all time favoured meal, but it was sadly discontinued. Now I go for the rockling burger and a pint of Stone and Wood.
Special dinner: Marion Wine Bar, Fitzroy, Melbourne
Always my special occasion restaurant, it’s an elegant, European style wine bar with amazing food. You have to order the dirty martini and the flatbread. Also special mention for the steak.
Casual dinner: Good Times, Fitzroy North, Melbourne
Order: A $9 negroni (yes, $9), garlic bread, rocket salad and puttanesca pasta. This place is my go to because it’s so wholesome and inexpensive. There’s sometimes a line but it’s worth it!
