Where do you live most of the year?
i live in berlin, germany
What do you look for in a restaurant when you walk in?
i check to see if i get a smile! usually if i get a smile i can assume the staff are mostly happy and looked after which means the vibe is on point
What is your final meal?
my mums burmese chicken curry and rice with stir fried garlic broccoli and dhal on the side. for dessert iād have my grandmas shwe gyi sanwin makin (burmese semolina cake)
3 guests for dinner, dead or alive?
my mum cindy, my late grandmother coral, and my daughter genie. i learned all about great food and my asian-ness from my mum and my grandmother so i think it would be so cool to have my daughter sit down and have a meal with them both to learn about that side of her identity. plus they are my best friends and i can be certain the food is next level good, they have the highest standards for flavour.
Logic1000ās Taste Maker Guide
Breakfast: Sgaminegg, berlin
Order: i never thought i would put a berlin cafe in here because berlin kind of sucks for food but honestly everything at this place is so good. itās a southern german cafe and i often go here for breakfast or lunch. the meals are so simple and affecting. i now profess my love for german food! for breakfast i would order the leberkƤse in a roll with spicy mustard and a leafy green salad on the side. leberkƤse couldnāt be more german. its probably not the healthiest meal but its so simple and so delicious. i donāt drink coffee anymore so id order either a black tea or just plain hot water.
Coffee: outta coffee, sydney
Order: āiād 10000% order the iced oat matcha to go. iāve had a lot of great matchas in my time but i really enjoy the vibes here. its always busy but while you wait you can and pop into the store next door to look around and buy yourself some luxury japanese clothing depending on what the bank account is saying!
Lunch: chiringuito cala xuclar, ibiza
Order: this is a very unassuming restaurant in a little beachy alcove in ibiza. we stumbled across it and had a life changing meal here. i think about it often. itās basically just seafood, but the best youāll ever have. so fresh. try the grilled prawns, the fish, get everything - honestly. iād have it with a sparkling water and fresh lime then go for a nice walk down to the shore and absorb the beauty of my all time favourite island.
Special dinner: all time, los angeles
the vibe here is so low key but somehow so boujee. i donāt love really stiff restaurants so this one is good if you want something nice, but can relax and be yourself. youāll always be able to spot at least one celebrity. the food is phenomenal. i loved the focaccia and the ceviche to start. both of these are so fresh. the bread is chewy and perfect and you feel very confident eating the cevice because it comes out looking so fresh. and tbh any of the mains are so delicious but my favourite was the duck. the service is very los angeles, so friendly and familiar. you leave feeling very satisfied.
Casual dinner: i donāt know the english name but the japanese name is: éŗŗå±ćć ć ęøč°·ę¬åŗ, tokyo
Order: i went here multiple times while in tokyo. they only really have one type of dish. thereās no english going down but i learned how to eat the noodles properly by watching others in the restaurant. just make sure to ask for the rice at the end to mop up the sauce.
